2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

This is an entry-level maintenance mechanic position. Under supervision of a higher-level mechanic, learn proper troubleshooting and repair of equipment in production, and the maintenance of building support equipment including air, water, steam, hydraulic, refrigeration and electric systems. Troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment in a timely manner under supervision. Perform preventative maintenance on production and warehouse equipment. Carry out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding and plumbing tasks as required. Rebuild/replace equipment as needed (e.g., pumps, gear boxes, bearings, bushings, chains, conveyors, etc.). Complete assigned work orders by their due dates and perform housekeeping duties as required. Notify Maintenance Supervisor/Manager of conditions that prevent manufacturing to standards. Work safely and in compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and company policies and procedures. Work overtime as needed, including weekends, holidays and emergencies. Bring and use basic personal tools necessary for the position. Work effectively as part of a team with a positive attitude. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Must take an in-house mechanical aptitude test. Basic math and reading skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Good organizational and time management skills.

Other Information / Physical Requirements

Communication: Required to talk and hear. Visual: Ability to read small print (manuals). Dexterity: Use of hands and fingers to perform tasks; ability to work in various positions (lying, kneeling, crouching) and in limited access spaces. Standing for long periods (4-6 hours); walking occasionally; climbing on ladders; frequent squatting/crouching; lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling with varying weights. Ability to withstand varying temperatures and environmental conditions (hot/cold, wet/damp, chemical exposure). Manufacturing environment with moving parts and potential for high noise levels; outdoor/indoor temperature variations; chemical hazards from cleaning and refrigeration materials.

Safety Responsibilities

Work safely and in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and rules. Report unsafe conditions or observations to a supervisor or manager; immediately report injuries or accidents. Meet company training requirements (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, confined space, electrical safety, Hazmat, hot work, ladder/ fall protection, fire safety, etc.).

SQF Requirements / Responsibilities

Support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality through sanitary work practices and completing assigned tasks. Report food safety problems to a supervisor or manager. Maintain the preventative maintenance program.

Compensation Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Pay range: $27.01 - $29.41 USD per hour.
