Overview

Lipscomb University seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track Faculty position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering, beginning January 2026. Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field, along with a minimum of three years of ECE work experience (industry or research) and a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level. Primary Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate engineering courses across topics such as digital logic, circuits, signals and systems, semiconductors and semiconductor electronics, power, microprocessors and embedded systems, digital signal processing, digital processor design, and/or instrumentation and controls. Maintain a 24-credit hour annual teaching load. Limited release time from the 24-hour load is possible with funded research and/or administrative assignments. Mentor and advise students, participate in professional development activities such as research and consulting, and contribute to curriculum development and assessment. Develop and teach courses in the candidate’s area(s) of interest and expertise. Engage in service activities within the department, university, and broader academic community. Expectations and Qualifications

Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum of three years of ECE work experience (industry or research) and demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to mentoring students, and ability to foster a collaborative academic environment. Experience teaching microprocessors and embedded systems is preferred. Experience in multicultural STEM outreach is desirable due to students’ engagement in engineering mission efforts domestically and internationally. Institutional Context
