The annual salary listed for this position includes the additional $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend ($1,560 annually) for full-time positions domiciled in a maximum security institution.

Responsibilities:
Plan, initiate, supervise, and participate in various phases of construction and repair work such as installing and repairing electrical wiring and plumbing, replacing doors/windows/siding, building cement forms, repairing roofs, windows, and other surfaces, building and repairing stone/brick walls and floors, and repairing guttering and drain spouts.
Supervise and participate in complex electrical work involving high‑voltage electrical systems.
Install, repair, and adjust air conditioning, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Instruct lower‑level staff in proper methods of operating and repairing air conditioning and heating systems.
Implement planned preventive maintenance and repair programs; plan and organize work; prepare time and material estimates; order materials; maintain records; requisition supplies.
Assign offenders/offender crews specific jobs; check quality and quantity of work performed; resolve disciplinary problems and disputes.
Receive general administrative direction; perform related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience as a Maintenance Worker within the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; possession of a high school diploma or proof of equivalence.
OR six or more years of semi‑skilled experience in building and/or plant maintenance work (excluding landscaping/grounds keeping or custodial/cleaning work); possession of a high school diploma or proof of equivalence.
Post‑secondary training from an accredited vocational, career, or technical school in one or more of the building, mechanical, or electrical trades may substitute up to two years of required experience (30 earned credit hours or 480 clock hours).
All requested documents must be received by the closing date.
Compensation Add‑Ons:
$2.00 per hour shift differential for shifts beginning between 12:00 pm and 5:00 am at 24/7 congregate care facilities.
$1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend for assigned work within a restrict housing/segregation unit.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
