Overview

The Maintenance Unit Supervisor is a salary position in Davenport, IA. The role supervises Electrician and Mechanic union employees on 12-hour shifts and will rotate between day and night shifts on a schedule determined by the department. The supervisor provides leadership, technical troubleshooting, and training to mechanical and electrical craft employees, and ensures productivity, safety, quality, reliable delivery performance, and rapid problem solving in a cost-effective, customer-centric environment. Responsibilities

Supervise mechanical crafts within a specific department, acting as a resource for maintenance guidance to craft and other manufacturing personnel. Execute planned and unplanned work to meet department goals. Maintain a safe work environment and a workplace that causes no harm to people or the environment. Lead individual safety discussions and job-specific safety reviews. Support operating results through the management of your crew with emphasis on quantity, quality, timeliness, safety, recovery, and delivery performance. Ensure work is allocated fairly and clearly assigned to crew members; formulate and assign tasks within guidelines established by Department management, prioritizing work based on business criticality. Decide and deploy appropriate crewing arrangements for planned and unplanned situations based on absences, schedule requirements, equipment availability, and vacations within labor agreement guidelines. Work with craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving techniques to maintain or restore production. Develop relationships and persuade others to resolve problems; may involve sensitive interpersonal situations and negotiation to obtain desired results. Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred: Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and HR/IR practices related to bargaining and local agreements; working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (ABS).
