Who We Are Looking For The

Senior Project Designer

will lead and support a team of design professionals, developing drawings, and technical solutions for clients. Our preferred candidate will have prior experience in the AEC industry, and an interest in working in a dynamic global design environment with a diverse range of public assembly building types, including sports venues, convention centers, and transportation facilities. What Your Day Could Consist Of Providing clear direction, leadership, mentorship and support to a team of design professionals. Designing, modifying, and reviewing design content and drawings adhering to industry standards and technical expertise. Developing innovative solutions for complex technical challenges from master planning and concept design through to construction documents. Developing conceptual drawings and visual imagery. Preparing materials for and participating in project interviews and design presentations to clients, communities, public agencies, and other key stakeholders. Coordinating technical drawings with external consultants to ensure project coherence and accuracy. Addressing and fulfilling client design and operational requirements with a focus on design excellence. Possibly contribute to marketing initiatives including website content, blog entries, videos, and articles for publication. Requirements For Success Proficiency and working knowledge of design software including Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD. Proficiency in 2D and 3D visualization software, including Autodesk Revit/Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Rhino3D/Enscape. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive departmental success. Knowledge of architecture design and operations, construction principles and understanding of generally applicable laws and regulations. Exceptional sketching and freehand drawing skills, capable of producing quick and impactful sketches to effectively communicate and sell design concepts. Proficient in inventive and creative design thinking, collaborative problem-solving, architectural production, spatial and environmental design, story development, and delivering high-quality design solutions. Essential Qualifications An accredited professional degree in Architecture. 15+ years of professional architectural experience including 5+ years managing multi-discipline design teams. Registered Architect with a current license. 5+ years of experience with sport stadiums, arenas, convention centers, hospitality, and aviation. NCARB registration preferred. LEED certification is preferred. Additional Details Travel will be required. Populous offers a competitive salary and bonus packages.
