Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Illinois nursing jobs) Facility: Acute Care Hospital – Level I Trauma Center Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026) Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050 Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (Avg. Daily Census: 21) EMR: Cerner Scrub Color: Any solid color Parking: Free with permit Qualifications
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of application Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or MS/Tele nursing experience BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required ACLS certification preferred Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) Proficient in respiratory care (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation) Skilled in isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac usage Ability to float within scope to meet hospital needs Must be able to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including blood product administration and central line care Monitor and manage patients with respiratory needs, including chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomies Perform phlebotomy, wound care, and utilize wound vacs as needed Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Float to other nursing units within scope as required Document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) Provide patient and family education and support Benefits
