Join the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana 2026 camp staff today! Camp Butternut Springs is an overnight camp that provides a safe and positive learning environment for girls ages 5-17.
As the camp’s Health Supervisor, you will be critical to the success of the summer. You are responsible for all aspects of medical care for campers and staff, including medical routines, medication administration, record keeping, and operation of the camp health center.
Work Commitment
Dates: June 2 – August 1, 2026
Leadership training, staff training, and in‑service day included.
Camp closed June 19, 2026 and July 3‑5, 2026; those days are unpaid.
Weekly schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays off.
Special Overnight Week: June 29 – July 1, 2026. Includes 2‑hour break on Tuesday.
Remote paid work possible starting May 1, 2026.
Benefits
Pay: $150 per day
First Aid and CPR certification (training provided)

Qualifications
Love interacting with children; prior experience with various age groups.
Enjoy spending time outdoors and prior experience in outdoor settings.
Must be 21+ years old (as of June 14, 2026) with a valid driver’s license and high school diploma or GED; 23+ strongly preferred.
Current certification for Health Supervisor in the state (RN, EMT, PA, or Licensed Paramedic preferred).
Current First Aid and CPR certifications required; training provided.
Proof of health history, cleared for work in a camp setting.
Willingness to work indoors/outdoors, irregular hours, limited technology, weather exposure.
Responsibilities
Create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for campers and staff.
Help build a supportive environment for camper growth and new experiences.
Model problem‑solving, collaboration, and initiative to campers and staff.
Participate actively in the leadership team, fostering teamwork, open communication, positive peer relationships, and support.
Prepare, monitor, and issue camp first aid kits for campers, staff, and field trips.
Maintain health records, screenings, and onsite health care for campers and staff.
Monitor, assist with, and evaluate emergency procedures, general procedures, facilities, and conditions.
Maintain open communication with camp director, staff, and parents/guardians regarding camper illness and injury.
Assume responsibility for physical health, safety, and mental welfare of campers and staff.
Other duties as assigned.
