Location: Newark, NJ 07103 – Convenient to New York City and the greater New Jersey healthcare community Assignment Type: Travel LPN contract Healthcare Setting: Correctional Facility – Long-Term Care Unit Start Date: August 25, 2025 End Date: November 22, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM Shifts per Week: 2 nights weekly Guaranteed Hours: 16 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary: $1360 - $1460
LPN Qualifications & Requirements
Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license – New Jersey preferred Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred) Minimum 1 year of LPN experience; correctional nursing or long-term care experience a plus Strong clinical assessment, triage, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
LPN Job Responsibilities
Deliver direct nursing care to inmate patients in a long-term care correctional facility Utilize the nursing process for triage, assessment, and care planning in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards Address a range of patient health concerns, from minor illnesses to complex chronic conditions Accurately document patient care and maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
