Overview
Mayfair Village Animal Hospital offers up to a $1500 travel stipend for Clinical Year Externships. Externships at Mayfair Village Animal Hospital are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
Externship participants will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing clinical skills, externs will have the opportunity to practice communication with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Work with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe/assist or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical care of patients.
Develop and practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
