Job Title: Research Senior Technician

Department: Medicine | Otolaryngology

Position Summary The Research Senior Technician will provide technical and operational support to the Wieland Laboratory within the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology. The technician will perform experiments and maintain laboratory systems that support studies in tumor immunology, antigen presentation, and immune regulation, contributing to the lab’s overall research objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine laboratory experiments and procedures under the supervision of the PI or senior staff.

Assist in sample preparation, data collection, and basic analysis for immune profiling experiments.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, and flow cytometers.

Maintain cell cultures, reagents, and experimental inventories.

Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety, and regulatory protocols.

Assist in the organization and documentation of experimental data.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biological or Chemical Sciences or equivalent experience required.

Experience: 4 years with a High School diploma or GED; 2 years with an Associate’s Degree; or 0 years with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Knowledge of general laboratory procedures and safety practices.

Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols and maintain accurate records.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Experience with immunological assays, cell culture, or molecular biology techniques.

Previous experience in an academic or clinical research laboratory setting.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced research environment.
