Overview Mount Sinai Services is recruiting for a Physician Assistant in the division of Neonatology and Newborn services at NYC Health + Hospitals / Queens. The Physician Assistant in Neonatology will perform a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation under the general administration of the Director of Neonatology & Newborn Services. The Physician Assistant will also participate in performance improvement, research, educational activities.

Responsibilities

Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.

Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.

Performs daily patient rounds.

Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.

Interprets laboratory and test results.

Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.

Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.

Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.

Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (ARC-PA) program, required.

Any prior experience in the NICU is preferred but not required.

Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.

Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.

Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, required.

Current New York State Physician Assistant registration, with prescription privileges.

Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System provides salary ranges that comply with applicable laws. The salary range for the role is $70 - $70 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, education, and operational need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
