Overview

MAT Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role at CFG Health. PT Day: 7 am-3:30 pm (Every other Monday & Friday and every other weekend). The Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) LPN provides direct patient care to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders in a correctional healthcare setting. This role is responsible for administering MAT medications, conducting clinical assessments, monitoring patient response, and collaborating with the MAT provider and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and compliant care delivery. Key Responsibilities

Administer MAT medications per provider orders and facility protocols. Perform nursing assessments to monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms, treatment response, and potential side effects. Conduct venipuncture and prepare laboratory specimens as directed by the provider; track and follow up on results. Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and medication administration in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with MAT providers, nursing staff, behavioral health clinicians, and security personnel to ensure coordinated, continuous care. Educate patients on treatment adherence, safety, and harm-reduction strategies. Maintain accurate medication inventory and ensure compliance with DEA, state, and facility regulations regarding controlled substances. Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and reporting requirements related to MAT services. Assist with discharge planning to support treatment continuity after release. Support staff training and education on MAT procedures and compliance standards. Perform other nursing duties as required to ensure smooth program operation. Qualifications

Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of employment. At least one (1) year of nursing experience; prior corrections, behavioral health, or addiction treatment experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in medication administration, injections, and phlebotomy. Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively in a secure environment while adhering to all safety and security protocols. Familiarity with MAT protocols, controlled substance handling, and applicable federal/state regulations. Physical and Functional Demands

Ability to stand, walk, and provide patient care for extended periods. Manual dexterity to safely handle medical equipment and controlled substances. Must be able to lift or move materials up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to respond promptly to clinical or facility emergencies. Must meet facility security clearance requirements and comply with correctional safety procedures.
