Job Summary Under direct supervision, performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women patients for our client facilities. May perform screening exams or diagnostic exams.
Essential Functions
Greet and prepare patients for mammogram procedures.
Take verbal orders from the physician.
Perform therapeutic and diagnostic studies on patients.
Print film or burn CDs if warranted and match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
Assist in quality improvement programs in the department.
Assist in training new personnel in hospital and department procedures.
Instruct Radiologic Technology students in the radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique.
Document patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.

Education
Associate’s Degree in Radiology required.
Able to Use Degree in lieu of Experience?
No.
Licenses and Credentials
Radiologic Technologist [MA] preferred.
Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
Mammography [R.T.(M)(ARRT)] preferred.
Experience
Mammography experience 1-2 years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to handle assignments under minimal supervision is essential.
Familiarity with and ability to use specialized equipment.
Strong interpersonal skills to place patients and family members at ease.
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
Knowledge of sterile technique.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Physical Requirements Standing Frequently 34‑66%, Walking Frequently 34‑66%, Sitting Occasionally 3‑33%, Lifting Frequently 34‑66% (35lbs+ assisted), Carrying Frequently 34‑66% (20‑35lbs), etc.
