The Sr. Primary Therapist facilitates treatment and provides coordination of referrals and intakes, direct practice in the areas of individual, family and group psychotherapy, treatment planning and consumer education. Qualifications
Master's in Social Work or Counseling in Psychology or related field. License in Social Work from NJ Board of Social Work Examiners or a License in Counseling from the NJ Board of Marriage and Family Therapists is required Three to five years of clinical experience with psychiatric disorder target client population and the dual-diagnosed target client population preferred. Group work, individual and family counseling skills are imperative. Experience with child and adolescent populations. Partial Hospital Program experience is also recommended. Must have completed the coursework for Prevocational Services in New Jersey. Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. State Driver's License Scheduling Requirements
Full-Time Day Shift Essential Functions
Perform Intake Assessments following initial contact or referral. Present an assessment to the treatment team and complete the required documentation for the clinical record. Perform Crisis Intervention with the cooperation of other treatment team members. Perform interventions with the screening center staff when required. Delivers therapeutic services identified in the treatment plan, which may include one or more of the following: individual, group, conjoint, family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and outreach. Complete a Treatment Plan with direct participation from each consumer on the caseload. Attend treatment planning meetings and conduct treatment strategy with other members of the treatment team. Complete documentation in the medical record according to department policy. Treatment Plans, Progress Notes and treatment summaries include all required information and meet the timeframe requirements according to policy, and to comply with Division of Mental Health Services and JCAHO standards. Facilitate individual and Family Therapy according to treatment plan recommendations. Assume active participation in Performance Improvement Projects. Initiate improvement efforts and work collaboratively with the treatment team to identify areas of needed improvement. Develop and facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic activity groups ongoing. Perform other duties as assigned by the department. Benefits and Perks
