Job Overview A variety of patient‑care duties and professional activities to facilitate patient care and treatment under the supervision of a radiology technologist. Assist in monitoring the flow of patient activities within the department.

Essential Functions

Performs basic diagnostic X‑rays supervised by a radiology technologist.

Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.

Prepares patients for exams and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.

Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by an authorized practitioner, technologist, or registered nurse.

Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound), including procedures requiring contrast media.

Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required for diagnostic exams.

Assists patients to restrooms, bedpans, urinals, and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.

Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements Requires moderate to heavy physical effort: lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies; standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation; flexing, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling frequently; exposure to varying physical conditions (hard surfaces, stairs, moving equipment). Must use radiation safety guidelines, MRI safety, and infection control as dictated by the procedural area.

Education, Experience and Certifications High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field. Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging; medical clerical skills preferred.
