Job Overview
Responsible for the administrative and clinical oversight of the department with assistance from the Director and Manager as needed. Works collaboratively with the managers and clinical partners to ensure best practice standards and clinical development of department and staff. Upholds shared values of the organization to lead department and staff. Exemplifies these values in every interaction with patients, families, staff, and colleagues both internal and external.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Oversees weekly staff schedules, monitors documentation deficiencies, monitors outpatient flow stats Monitors volumes and reviews with staff and plans accordingly Assists with coordination of outpatient schedules for patients needing multiple services Ensures that department follows administrative and clinical policies and procedures Identifies need for improvements and suggests modifications to related policies if needed Takes an active role in assuring the organization meets regulations that oversee their practice Handles customer service issues and is responsible to make sure department upholds Service Excellence standards at all interactions Takes an active role in reviewing Press Ganey survey and performs follow-up Assists with interview/hiring of new staff Responsible for orienting new staff to department procedures, provides clinical supervision to staff and aides, ensures staff meet department expectations Responsible for PI process, 90-day review, and APR process with input from the manager and director Assists in developing a process for recruitment and retention of experienced clinicians Evaluates and treats patients according to Best Practice Standards Embraces a family-centered care approach Ensures staff adheres to family-centered care philosophy and best practice within clinical evaluations, goal development, treatment and discharge planning through periodic review and monitoring of documentation Shares skills and knowledge for staff's clinical growth Partners with the clinical lead team to identify best practice guidelines and implement changes to service delivery Partners with staff to develop Personal Development Plans and monitors progress for goal attainment Identifies, inspires and helps to grow new leaders in the organization at the personal, clinical, departmental and organizational level Oversees department in-service training Assists in maintenance of relevant department manuals and education records Attends Leadership Retreats and other meetings as selected by Directors Shares relevant information with staff Communicates and assures understanding of relevant organizational and site level information to all staff in a timely manner Maintains communication with Directors and Managers for department operational issues and Director of Clinical Quality for clinical education opportunities Serves as a link between Directors, Managers and department staff Assists with development and management of department budget Collaborates with Director and Manager when ordering supplies Assists with program development and marketing Helps provide community outreach and education Meets minimum annual expected volumes Works at CSH facilities as designated by Director and Manager Will be required to travel among two sites to provide clinical care, attend meetings, and/or provide supervisory responsibilities Clinical supervision for department staff, aides, and students at assigned site(s) as identified by Director and Manager
Qualifications
Required: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program NJ Physical Therapy license AHA BLS Provider certification Demonstrates clinical excellence and leadership ability Evidence of good time management skills and the ability to make effective decisions Maintains a positive attitude and has excellent communication skills Ability to influence, guide and motivate staff Demonstrates tact, initiative and judgment in performance of duties Flexibility both in work hours and performance of duties Professional membership of discipline Physical stamina to lift, maneuver patients and equipment
Preferred: Doctorate degree Five years clinical experience working with pediatric population Previous clinical supervision Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
Certifications and Licenses Required: NJ Physical Therapy license AHA BLS Provider certification
Scheduling Requirements: Full Time 40 hours/week
