Overview
The Lab Technician will be working inside and outside during all types of weather. They will be accepting samples from tankers and plant operations as they arrive as well as performing analysis on those samples. They will work under the general direction of the laboratory manager performing sampling and conducting analysis on incoming and discharge samples for compliance with all site-specific, local, state and federal regulations for waste acceptance. Essential Functions
Receiving samples from the tankers as they arrive at the site. Performs wet bench chemistry to analyze waste acceptance of samples and loads prior to disposal at the facility. Manages regulatory paperwork (manifests, bills of lading, logbooks, etc.) in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations for proper recordkeeping. Serves as a technical liaison between customers and other departments of the facility. Coordinates with the laboratory manager on other projects as needed. Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (Required). Three (3) hours of college chemistry (wastewater experience may substitute). One year (1) of experience working as a lab technician (Preferred). Knowledge and Skills
Basic knowledge of laboratory personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety. Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office). Working Environment
Heavy driving, vibration, and noise. Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet weather conditions. Willing to work in environments with strong odors and smells.
