Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments and record medical histories.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing.
Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure the dental office adheres to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Utilize EMR systems for documentation review and patient management.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Experience in pediatric dentistry and chairside assisting is a plus.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Previous experience in a dental clinic or office setting is highly desirable.
