Overview
A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) is seeking a full-time professor of biochemistry at the assistant or associate level on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This is a joint appointment with KCOM and MOSDOH and includes teaching in biochemistry courses within the Department of Biochemistry at KCOM and MOSDOH. Duties & Responsibilities
Participate in the teaching mission of the Department of Biochemistry. Perform independent, externally funded basic science research or other scholarly activity. Contribute to the academic mission of the university through service to the college and university, and service to the profession through biochemistry or research-oriented organizations at the local, regional, and national/international level. Other duties as assigned by the department chair or the KCOM associate dean or dean. Requirements
PhD or related doctoral degree/DO/MD. General knowledge in biochemistry for the purpose of teaching biochemistry to first and second-year medical and dental students. Postdoctoral research experience; teaching experience required; biochemistry teaching experience in a medical/dental setting preferred; experience with budgets, basic computer experience, and technical experience necessary to conduct research/scholarly program. Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently both individually and as a member of a group. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to work tactfully within a larger organization. Strong problem-solving skills. Computer with software necessary for teaching, and significant experience with equipment required to conduct an individual research/scholarly activity program. Benefits
