Job Description Performs calibration of Gage Blocks, Threaded Plug and Ring Gages, Cylindrical Plug & Ring Gages and other hard gages to required specifications in accordance with ANSI, Military, Federal, and Manufacturer Specifications. Also perform similar calibration on various hand tool type gages such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, torque wrenches, etc. Measurements are recorded for long form certificates traceable to The N.I.S.T. Calibrations are performed in QCS climate controlled laboratory environment.
Job Duties All work is performed in accordance to specific procedures that comply with various standards and specifications.
Calibration data is collected by taking measurements and recording the readings in QCS custom developed applications for Long Form Certificate of Calibration.
Where applicable, adjustments are made to bring the gages/instruments into tolerance.
Requires knowledge of gage application and functionality and be able to determine if a gage is in or out of tolerance by performing basic math.
Must be able to follow and understand the calibration procedures & techniques while possessing the appropriate analytical abilities.
Qualifications
Must be capable of working effectively individually or in a team environment.
2 year technical school degree or equivalent level of education and/or work experience in a Quality or manufacturing discipline where gages were used, or Military (PMEL) training/experience.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction.
Good Math Skills.
Must possess initiative and self motivation.
Ability to obtain and maintain accurate records & certifications.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work with databases and know how to properly store and retrieve data.
Good Mechanical Aptitude.
Good Troubleshooting skills.
Must have good communication skills and a professional appearance due to interface with customers.

Company Description QCS is an ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited full service metrology lab established in 1984 that provides calibration services to the Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, Medical, Nuclear, and all other General, Manufacturing sectors. QCS calibrates Hard Gages (i.e. Gage Blocks, Cylindrical and Threaded-Plugs, Rings, & Pins, etc.), performs calibration and repair of Electro-Mechanical Gage Hand Tools (i.e. Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Torque, Force, Pressure, Height Gages, Mass, etc.), and Electronic Test & Measurement Equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multi-meters, Frequency Counters, Signal Generators, Hypots, etc.). OCS offers on‑site services for the calibration of CMM’s, Hand Tools, Surface Plates, Optical Comparators, Hardness Testers, Electronic Instrumentation, and more. In addition QCS provides 1st Article Dimensional Inspection Services utilizing our touch probe and video CMM’s.
