Equity Research Associate - Energy (Exploration and Production and/or Midstream) Publish proprietary equity research for our Energy team and exhibit the firm's expertise in the Exploration and Production and/or Midstream sector.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Creating and publishing proprietary equity research content in the designated industry with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) for institutional buy‑side clients.

Conducting due diligence and providing industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions, and initiating C‑suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients.

Conducting independent industry assessments and company‑specific research reports.

Engaging with corporate client relationships at the highest C‑level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc).

Level‑Specific Duties

Works closely with senior analysts in the research production process and with supervisory analysts in the publication process.

Conducts research at macro, industry, and company levels.

Builds industry and company‑level models, including market/share forecasts, revenue, EPS, and cash‑flow projections.

Performs financial and valuation analyses.

Formulates investment ideas and writes draft research commentary.

May work with Capital Markets, sales, and trading to leverage the analyst's product into institutional clients.

May maintain active dialogue with representatives of covered companies, depending on experience.

May collaborate with institutional buy‑side clients to leverage research products, according to experience and managerial needs.

Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree.

Licenses: SIE, Series 7 (or 7 Top Off), Series 63, Series 87, and either Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for CFA II completion.

Minimum 4 years of related work experience.

Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to create in‑depth financial models.

Advanced written and oral communication and teamwork skills.

Strong analytical and sales skills.

Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Working toward CFA designation.

4+ years of related work experience.

Annual base salary (New York) $160,000.

Benefits All regular teammates (working 20+ hours per week) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, tax‑preferred savings accounts, and a 401(k) plan.
