Manufacturing Equipment Technician – Compress Nights
MACOM is seeking a mid to senior level equipment repair technician for the Lowell semiconductor fab to perform repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. Coverage areas may include Epi, Diffusion, HiPox, Plasma Deposition, Plasma Etch, Wet Etch, Metal Evaporation, Photolithography, Grind, RF/DC Test, and Metrology depending on experience and aptitude. Coverage in multiple areas is required.
Shift Full-time day shifts, 12hr shift, 6pm – 6am.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday or Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every other Wednesday.
After a period of orientation and training on a 5x8 day-shift schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Executes all aspects of operation, repair, trouble shooting, preventive maintenance, adjustments, rebuilding and modifications to insure proper operation and maximum up-time of various types of processing equipment with little or no supervision.
Assists Engineering in commissioning of new fabrication equipment.
Uses various test and diagnostic equipment to trouble-shoot and repair systems.
Maintains necessary records, reports, written and verbal pass downs, parts inventory-reordering parts.
Leads or assists in the investigation and resolution of equipment related process problems.
Proactively drives safe practices within the factory, supports and follows site safety policies.
Works in clean room environment wearing clean room garments.
Self starter: Independently learns and can be trained by others on the job, manages time by priorities.
Communicates day to day events, direction, and repairs both written and verbally, through logs and passdowns.
Excels within a changing environment while working with others in a positive and cooperative manner to meet common goals and objectives in support of production and engineering – customer oriented.
Positively influences and supports others to succeed in their roles.
Some travel for external training is required as needed.
Qualifications
Must have recent experience in semiconductor fab repair and maintenance, minimum 3 years.
Technical education preferred in electronics and/or mechanics, may be offset by experience.
Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize issues and tasks according to production needs.
Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs, works in awkward positions as necessary, walks, stands, or sits for up to 8 hrs.
Experienced with handling toxic and reactive chemicals and gases common to the semiconductor industry.
Good written and verbal skills, possesses good keyboard and computer skills.
