Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities in a manner consistent with the Company's goals and objectives. Takes initiative and fulfills duties according to Kodiak procedures. Acts as the informal mentor and leader in the area. Troubleshoot complex repairs, major equipment overhauls and operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues. Participate in all HSE related activities, with expert knowledge of HSE procedures and policies; serve as Safety Expert and role model. Cultivate, build, and maintain customer relationships. Take corrective actions to ensure 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment. Provide input to the Area Manager on personnel needs for timely and economical maintenance in the assigned area. Provide information to the Area Manager for budgeting and planning in the area. Analyze parts and supply inventory to communicate with Supply Chain to maintain sufficient parts for optimal job performance. Maintain assigned units in a clean and presentable condition; complete required reports per operating procedures/policies. Provide 24/7 coverage; overtime and on-call rotations may be required (including after hours, weekends, and holidays). May backfill lead, as necessary; perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred OEM, Trade School, and/or 5+ years of related experience. Successful completion of Kodiak's SSE program, plus a minimum of 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role. Deep knowledge of gas processes and compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.). 5+ years total in compression, production, and related experience/training. Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills. Strong teamwork, communication (written and oral), analytical ability, mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, initiative, planning, problem solving, and customer focus. Advanced knowledge of compressor packages and their components; expert knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook). Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR per company policy. CAT, Waukesha, and Ariel certifications preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Physical Demands
Operate heavy equipment; stand up to 75% of the time and sit up to 25%. Climb ladders or stairs to inspect, repair, and maintain equipment; balance on stairs/ladders with safety. Communicate with coworkers, customers, and emergency cues, using in-person and mobile devices. Frequently lift up to 10 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 pounds. Work in high-noise environments (>85 dBA) with ear protection; exposure to hazardous chemicals; outdoor conditions (extreme heat/cold). Move and assume various positions (stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl) in tight or confined spaces; wear all required PPE (FR clothing, hard hat, face shield, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
