Process Engineer (Surge & Hydraulic Study)
to join our client’s project team in
Spring, TX . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry
and hands‑on experience with
surge and hydraulic system studies .
Process Engineer (Surge & Hydraulic Study)
Location:
Spring, TX (Onsite)
Duration:
Long Term Contract
Experience:
5–10 Years
Responsibilities
Review and verify inputs as per project requirements.
Prepare and review
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
and
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) .
Perform pipeline system surge analysis, operating pressure and overpressure protection calculations.
Conduct surge analysis modeling for multiple projects.
Execute and review hydraulic studies, including line sizing and pump head calculations.
Review and evaluate data related to overpressure protection setpoints, sizing, and installation requirements.
Assist in the design and specification of overpressure protection mitigations.
Prepare, update, and review process datasheets for process equipment such as pumps, storage tanks, vessels, columns, separators, heat exchangers, etc.
Perform and review control valve and relief valve sizing using relevant codes.
Prepare, update, and review line lists, equipment lists, cause & effect diagrams, and control narratives.
Collaborate with field/site engineers, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
5–10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
Proven expertise in Surge and Hydraulic system studies.
Knowledge of industry design standards and codes.
Technical Skills
Aspen HYSYS
(Required)
Synergi Pipeline Simulator, AFT Impulse, or similar surge/hydraulic modeling tools.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
Understanding of pipeline operations, gas measurement, and regulation systems.
Familiarity with pipeline stress/strain analysis and industry best practices.
