Collaborate with the Battelle Cyber Trust and Assurance team on state-of-the-art integrated circuit security solutions, spanning design, verification, and testing of electronic devices, integrated circuits, and embedded systems. Support semiconductor device forensics through chemical processing and materials characterization. Ensure safe operation of laboratory equipment, including handling of acids, solvents, bases, and other hazardous chemical systems. Articulate strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, and problem approaches during technical discussions. Work with internal stakeholders to prepare presentations and reports; provide input, demonstrations, or presentations on assigned tasks during customer meetings as needed. Prioritize and complete assignments with mentoring from senior staff. Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with 2–5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience; or an equivalent education/experience combination. Hands-on experience in semiconductor device sample preparation (e.g., sectioning, polishing, depackaging, delayering, plasma etching, wet chemical processing). Experience with semiconductor physical failure analysis techniques for materials, electrical, or structural characterization: focused ion beam (FIB), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), light microscopy. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for science and technology. US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree with 2+ years of work experience in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics; or equivalent. Experience with characterization techniques such as energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), or X-ray computed tomography (XCT). Familiarity with semiconductor/device physics, ICs, and microelectronics hardware. Experience in tool maintenance, repairs, and laboratory management/safety oversight. Strong bench skills, including digital and analog circuit prototyping and test/instrument design. Experience in reverse engineering, verification/validation, and/or device processing for IC fabrication. Experience designing, constructing, and automating custom test instrumentation. Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or C# for engineering solutions. Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance. Benefits
