Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Refrigeration Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Hourly Pay: $35.50 per hour.
Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700.
Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF.
Hours: First Shift 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.
As a Reefer Technician at Ryder, you'll diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair a full range of trucks and trailers while focusing on refrigeration systems like Thermo King and Carrier.

Requirements (Preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational or Technical Certification/Post Secondary degree or technical certifications.
Basic tool set required.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines.
Four (4) years or more relevant work experience.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
All other certification as required by location.
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all T3 tasks.
Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Basic computer skills (PC, Windows).
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be available for shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required.
ASE certifications (PM, Brakes, A/C, Electrical, Electronics) or ASE Master Mechanic preferred.
Proficiency with shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.
Must have minimum tool requirements and be able to road test vehicles as necessary.
Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/influence others.
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background/motor vehicle check.
Responsibilities
SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220).
Complete all OEM on-line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days.
Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required.
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties (standard, preventive, complex).
Access and use internal/external maintenance documents.
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support.
Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers for roadside breakdowns.
Perform facility maintenance duties.
Interact with customers/drivers regarding complaints.
Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance and diagnostics.
Coach/mentor other technicians.
Advise shop management and technicians on shop repairs.
Use shop management system and electronic documentation.
Work in accordance with all safety, DOT, MOT compliance guidelines.
Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support).
