Responsibilities

The Plant Operator will be responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Operate natural gas plant and pipeline equipment including amine treating plants, chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, gas measurement equipment, etc. Operate the plant equipment and system including start-up/shutdown of plant equipment; adjust controls to operate equipment within prescribed operating ranges; visually inspect equipment and controls for malfunctions or lubrication needs; de-pressurize equipment and pipelines; operate valves. Monitor plant and pipeline operations and respond appropriately to emergency or upset conditions. Operate under Process Safety Management (PSM) as required and implement safe work practices, ensuring safety for employees, the public, and the environment at all times. Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain records; read, monitor, and record operating conditions such as pressures, temperatures, hours of operation, fuel consumption, water levels, etc. Perform minor maintenance on equipment and systems including compressors, dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, etc. Monitor and replace filters, oil, chemicals, and other lubricants as needed; remove and replace gaskets and valves as necessary; change gauges. Maintain site cleanliness and site upkeep, including trash removal, weed control, minor painting, and related tasks. Assist with continuous improvement efforts to meet customer needs and demands; maintain a near perfect driving record; direct and supervise contract labor involved in plant maintenance; collaborate on new and improved ideas for evolving plant and pipeline systems. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor and work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred. Previous experience in an amine treating plant is preferred. Basic computer skills in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required. Knowledge of operation, control and design of systems typical in a processing or fractionation plant is required. Strong commitment to personal and job safety is required. Good decision making skills and a strong work ethic is required. Ability to work independently and maintain good working relationships within a team environment is required. Good organizational and customer relations skills are required. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with landowners and other corporate and field personnel are required.
