What to Expect
As a Equipment Maintenance Supervisor on the Battery Cell Formation Team, you will ensure the seamless operation of high-volume Li-ion cell manufacturing equipment by prioritizing preventive maintenance. This role involves leading a team of approximately 10 plus maintenance technicians, optimizing maintenance schedules, and enhancing operational efficiency. With expertise in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and controls systems, you will maintain production integrity while upholding safety and quality standards, fostering collaboration across teams to maximize equipment uptime and performance.
What You'll Do
Oversee preventive maintenance programs for complex manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
Lead, supervise and train a team of approximately 10 plus maintenance technicians, assigning tasks to enhance efficiency and equipment reliability
Develop maintenance and calibration schedules to maximize mean time between failures and minimize mean time to repair
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues, implement upgrades, and support refurbishment projects
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, department records, and spare parts inventory for timely repairs
Enforce compliance with safety regulations and plant safety programs to ensure a secure working environment
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment issues to prevent recurrence
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Technology, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Expertise in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and controls systems with hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills
Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs and familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance principles
Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or 6-Sigma principles to support process and efficiency improvements
Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills for team coordination and cross-functional collaboration, must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
