Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Seeking a Lead Estimator with 8+ years in commercial estimating. Commercial experience would be a plus, but not required. This person will promote into the Chief Estimator within a few years!
Join a TOP mid‑sized General Contractor who is known for their integrity of work, family‑first culture, and giving back to the community. They specialize in commercial and multifamily construction and are looking for an estimator/senior estimator to join the team for the long haul, promoting into a leadership position within 5 years.
Description
Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Participate in pre‑bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
Interface with Owner, A/E and/or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
Prepare conceptual estimates as needed by our clients.
Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
Utilize and complete the subcontractor pre‑qualification.
Identify and distribute documents to interested bidders.
Leadership during the design process through a design‑assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques/ideas/products, and subcontractor relationships.
Lead efforts to secure long‑lead subcontractors and materials.
Work with cities and municipalities to identify and procure required permits.
Profile
BA/BS degree construction management, engineering, or 3+ years experience in the estimating or project management field.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
Ground‑up project knowledge and experience preferred.
Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage, MS Project.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Quantity takeoff and cost estimate experience.
Job Offer
Base salary ranging from $100,000 - $140,000 depending on experience.
