Responsibilities
Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times; leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.
Embodies commitment for a safe workplace; acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities, and communication; assists plant management in implementing safety programs and educating associates.
Supervises, oversees and directs all mold techs, team leaders, and machine operators in their daily performance of job duties related to productivity, quality, housekeeping and safety.
Tracks and directs all parts manufactured as needed for work orders.
Monitors production rate of skilled labor to ensure workflow, efficiency and quality.
Issues corrective action notifications for program areas failing to meet quality/delivery expectations.
Evaluates and documents personnel performance as needed.
Manages housekeeping of the entire production area.
Trains new associates, evaluates progress during the 90‑day probationary period, and recommends discharge or retention.
Conducts all counseling, written warnings, suspensions, and HR‑approved discharges for warranted violations of plant rules.
Manages all department employees, approves or denies vacation requests, verifies time cards, monitors attendance, and handles disciplinary actions, accident investigations and daily work assignments.
Ensures all hours worked by associates are accurate in the attendance system.
Prepares accident reports by thoroughly investigating incidents.
Interprets company policies to employees and enforces all safety regulations.
Provides new employee instructions, assigns jobs and schedules employees, and resolves issues with employees.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1–2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to a manufacturing environment with loud noise; hearing protection required at times.
Equal amounts of time spent sitting, standing, bending, and lifting/moving.
Good verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicates with customers, both external and internal.
Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self‑starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
Proven leader and motivator.
