Salary: $17.75/Hour Minimum Per Teamsters Contract Bargaining Unit: Contracts (click Here For Contracts) Report Times: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday) Daily Hours: 8.5 (8 Paid) Work Year: 12 Months Supervisor: Director of Facilities Civil Service Title: Maintenance Mechanic III Minimum Requirements

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades; OR Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. Note: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis. Desired Qualifications

One (1) year of experience as a workman in one or more of the following: painting, masonry, plaster, glass and window maintenance, drywall repair, facilities maintenance and related trades; Possession of a valid NYS motor vehicle operator's license Class "D" or Class "B" may be required; Must be able to work on scaffolds, lifts and ladders up to 40 feet; Daily attendance is expected; Good knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of one or more of the construction and facilities maintenance and related trades; Ability to work from plans, specifications, and rough sketches; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Ability to work well with others; Good hand and eye coordination; Physical condition commensurate with the demand of the position. Position Summary/Responsibilities

Perform semi-skilled work or assist a skilled worker in one or more of the construction trades, such as masonry, carpentry, or painting; Install paneling, bulletin boards and shelves, ceiling and floor tiles, insulation, gutter systems, and weather stripping; Perform routine or simple repair of windows, doors, floors, walls, ceilings and other parts of buildings; Repair, rebuild, and refinish furniture, athletic and office equipment; Mix plaster and concrete and assist in laying brick, plastering walls, finishing concrete work, etc.; Paint interior and exterior of buildings, furniture and equipment; Repairs and maintenance on several types of roofs; May be required to work with Grounds and Mechanical crews as necessary; Other Duties And Responsibilities As Assigned.
