Pay Range $20.00/hr – $55.00/hr (based on skills, experience, and certifications).
Essential Functions Travel daily to project sites, monitor construction activities, perform field inspections and testing using applicable equipment, prepare daily field reports, communicate deficiencies to project managers, contractors, and/or client representatives, interpret project drawings and documents, and perform any other related duties.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid, clean driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel primarily throughout the New York City metro area.
Comfortable with OSHA training within a reasonable time.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Detail oriented.
Basic understanding of building inspection codes and requirements (International Building Codes, ASTM Standards, TMS standards).
Certifications (must be current):
ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector
ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector
AWS Certified Welding Inspector
BS Degree in Civil Engineering
Physical Requirements
Assume stationary positions.
Handle, inspect, or feel documents, materials, and equipment.
Communicate via email and telephone.
Move around the job site, ascend/descend landscapes or ladders, and access testing equipment for prolonged periods.
Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Perform daily operations of a motor vehicle.
Employees may be required to undergo substance abuse testing as required by project requirements, US DOT regulations, or company policy. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
