Construction Project Manager / HPM at HPM

Description The Project Manager is responsible for managing the entire construction process from start to finish. This position plans and coordinates all aspects of the construction process to effectively manage risk. Responsibilities include managing vendors, contract negotiations, client expectations, dispute resolution, estimating/procurement, and schedule production. The role may require up to 30% travel.

Responsibilities

Oversee the work of assistant project managers and participate in delivering training for other project and field staff.

Maintain the Job Cost Report, ledgers, and budget.

Develop all project administration, correspondence, and letters.

Provide planning, administration, programming, design, construction, and technical support to ensure all construction projects are executed according to established standards and procedures.

Develop and ensure budgetary controls are in place for each project to effectively monitor progress and budget.

Develop and/or review documentation related to project construction administration, contractor payments, change orders, construction inspections, quality controls, safety, and overall contract compliance; prepare cost estimates and analyze contractor proposals.

Comply with all internal reporting procedures and policies related to budget, contract administration, and other project-related requirements.

Prepare documentation and analysis for decisions related to the award of construction and/or consultant services contracts.

Attend owner's organizational meetings for input on construction, renovation, and other project requests.

Serve as owner's representative in the execution and administration of engineering, design, and construction contracts.

Prepare, review, and update budgets and scope amendments for changes in funding; submit recommendations for review and approval by the Owner.

Prepare and review change orders to construction contracts and amendments to A/E contracts; submit recommendations for review and approval by the Owner.

Attend planning and project status meetings.

Seek new business and grow relationships with existing customers.

Manage all submittal approvals, RFIs, RFQs, SWAs, EWOs, PCOs, and material procurement.

Develop and maintain the project plan by producing SSRs, issuing monthly projections, and preparing change orders and pricing for the owner; create and monitor pay applications and cash flow to manage the budget.

Engage in strategic thinking and planning of schedule and budget.

Maintain a complete understanding of job contracts and contract documents.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

4–10 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on‑site experience in managing new construction and renovation of existing assets.

Detailed knowledge of the construction process, budgeting, accounting, and procurement.

Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software such as Suretrak, Project, P6, Procore, Revit, VICO, or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License (required).

Preferred Certifications / Memberships Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

AGC/ABC membership

LEED AP

OSHA 30 Hour

Physical Demands and Working Environment Work is primarily performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather and temperature conditions, and requires travel between sites. Primary functions include sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and verbally communicate to exchange information. Vision and hearing requirements are within normal ranges, with or without correction.
