Journeyman Electrician
In this role, you will install the electrical components of our solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. It requires traveling from one worksite to another, working closely with our field crews on rooftops of commercial or residential buildings. Depending upon the work site, travel may involve being out of town for up to four days. You'll drive a company vehicle, and we'll arrange overnight accommodations and pay per diem.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical specifications. Collaborate with field supervisors to aid in the planning of assigned projects and updating status in our CRM. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit and cable. Test the system and observe the continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems. Enforce all NEC local codes and stay current on industry changes. Ensure the meticulous maintenance of all company-owned tools, vehicles, and materials. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8–10-hour shifts. This position is classified as SAFETY SENSITIVE. It involves exposure to extreme weather conditions while operating heavy equipment and tools on rooftops. It requires being alert and identifying and reporting safety hazards. Work on or near energized electrical equipment, which poses the risk of electric shock or arc flash. Our employees receive comprehensive training before commencing any on-site activities. Professional appearance. Clean driving record (3+ years) with a valid driver’s license. 4-5+ years of electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair experience. Ability to work from various heights via ladders and other safe platforms. Ability to read and interpret one-line drawings and electrical schematics. A working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), and local & utility jurisdiction requirements. Benefits
