SUMMARY
The Field Construction Coordinator is key in successfully executing fiber construction projects by ensuring site readiness, coordinating resources, and supporting field operations.
This position is responsible for verifying that crews are equipped with the appropriate materials, documentation, and direction to complete work safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Serving as a critical liaison between contractors, material vendors, project teams, and local municipalities, the coordinator helps maintain seamless communication and efficient field execution.
Additional responsibilities include managing fallout from incomplete jobs, addressing construction-related concerns, supporting restoration efforts, and serving as a primary point of contact for customer interactions and utility coordination within their assigned region.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support daily field execution and confirm job site readiness before crews begin work
Act as the field liaison between contractors, material vendors, and internal project teams
Verify site conditions and logistics before construction starts; report real-time issues and delays
Track and verify material deliveries, usage, and crew activity at job sites
Ensure crews have the correct Scope of Work (SOW), maps/prints, materials, and instructions
Collect and verify contractor paperwork and field activity to support invoicing and closeout
Gather field-level SOW data, site photos, and change requests for accurate cost tracking
Quickly identify and elevate issues, including safety hazards, damages, or delays
Perform field checks to ensure work meets specifications before handoff to QC or inspection
Assist with scheduling and coordination with local inspectors and municipalities
Oversee the closeout process, including final end-of-line checks, validating and finalizing as-builts, and ensuring all required documentation is collected and submitted for invoicing approval
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in utility or fiber construction
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
Familiarity with reading prints, construction documentation, and using mobile apps for reporting
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed
