Overview
Mechanical Engineer - EI — Kansas City, Missouri As part of Garver's Buildings team, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. This includes planning, design, and commissioning of building HVAC systems, building plumbing systems, building fire protection systems, building whole-building energy modeling, and building sustainability requirements reporting. This role involves coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers in managing projects, and adherence to quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required. Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs for Building HVAC systems Develop mechanical designs for Building plumbing systems Develop mechanical designs for Building fire protection systems Contribute to Building whole-building energy modeling Support Building sustainability reporting requirements Coordinate with other disciplines and regional offices Assist project managers in management of projects Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans Note: Additional travel to project sites will be required as part of project needs. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET-accredited university or college Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to building mechanical designs Strong communication skills Experience with Autodesk Revit Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam Preferred Skills
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program Experience with AIA MasterSpec Grow With Us
