Field Construction Manager
to join our team at K&A Engineering in
Orange, Connecticut . In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Field Support to Fix Problems – Being Proactive Must do Reporting – Weekly Report, Monthly Reports, site weekly minutes of meetings Monitor Schedule - Look Ahead vs. PM Attend the contractor’s safety, environment and Quality meetings; provide a tip in the onsite meeting Keep on site and updated the H&S, Environment and Quality project binder FCM must be organized, must document everything to provide a good paper trail Work in the preparation of Final File Review contractor invoices and schedules Conduct weekly project progress meeting; request the contractor two week look ahead schedule at each weekly meeting On-site whenever work is being performed; observe contractor activities and adherence to M&PT in public ROW; immediately notify PM of problems or foreseeable issues Coordinate material delivery between the client’s Stockroom and Contractor Inspect project-related construction material for damage and completeness Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications, quality, and schedules Facilitate resolving construction problems by working with engineering personnel, inspectors, contractors and suppliers; strong communications skills required Minimize Change Orders; support Project Manager Services to review Change Orders/Notices or other claims; provide recommendations Review project documentation and provide input to enhance constructability Maintain a project change order and correspondence log Maintain a daily on-site as-built project plan Continuously communicate with the associated PM Coordinate with local and state municipalities during project execution Ensure CIP/NERC requirements are maintained throughout project execution Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education with 10 years of relevant experience Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive related electric utility industry experience; transmission facilities construction management experience preferred Five (5) years' supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of NRA clearances and switching orders beneficial Expert with Distribution Systems Ability to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA and regulatory statutes Experience in electrical utility transmission UV/OV & civil construction Knowledge of GPS systems and SAP preferred Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors Ability to investigate and solve construction problems promptly Computer and administrative skills Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must have current US work authorization and valid US driver license in good standing Pay & Benefits
Pay Range:
