We are currently seeking an experienced
Commercial Insulator
to join our Wichita, KS team. The Insulator installs and finishes insulation on mechanical systems including chilled water, heating water, plumbing, steam, equipment, and ventilation ductwork. Work is performed at commercial and industrial job sites, primarily in Wichita and surrounding areas, with occasional travel to out‐of‑town or overnight projects as needed. This position plays an important role in ensuring energy efficiency, system protection, and a professional appearance on every project.
Job Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine insulation requirements.
Measure, cut, and install fiberglass, elastomeric (Armaflex), mineral wool, and foam insulation on piping, ductwork, and equipment.
Fabricate and install jacketing systems such as PVC, aluminum, stainless steel, or ASJ.
Seal seams, fittings, and terminations using approved tapes, mastics, and adhesives.
Insulate fittings such as valves, strainers, flanges, and tees using pre‑formed covers or custom fabricated insulation.
Ensure all work meets specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work environment.
Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure smooth job progress.
Follow all company safety policies including PPE, fall protection, and site‑specific requirements.
Requirements Requirements for this role include experience with commercial insulation installation and a strong understanding of mechanical systems. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work safely on job sites and collaborate effectively with project teams.
