About the Role

As a CBRE Building Engineer you will utilize advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, you will monitor building system operations and performance and perform required trade tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.

What You’ll Do

Comply with all applicable regulations, codes, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and meets required environmental conditions.

Oversee and inspect work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing and cleaning.

Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance and complete maintenance and repair records as required.

Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed, and order necessary supplies.

Maintain an energy management program to operate all systems efficiently and keep operating costs at a minimum.

Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.

Respond quickly to emergency situations, arranging additional assistance as needed.

What You’ll Need

Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4 years of job‑related experience.

Universal CFC certification preferred.

Additional certification in electrical, mechanical HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair (as required by local or state jurisdictions).

Strong communication skills – comprehend instructions and write routine reports.

Practical problem‑solving skills and technical judgment.

Basic computer skills (work order system, Outlook, ESS).

Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and lift or carry heavy loads of 40 lbs. or more.

Strong organizational skills.

Health and safety compliance, including training completion and audit support.

Valid driver’s license may be required.
