Mechanical Engineer
to join the North American Hub of our Group Technology organization. This onsite position is at our facility in Ranson, WV and requires extensive travel. Relocation assistance to the Ranson, WV area is available. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Travel the world and contribute your solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering as you work with a diverse team of engineers. You will be instrumental in the continued growth of our North American Group Technology Hub Engineering team. The role involves building and delivering mechanical design, installation, commissioning and running-in of process equipment and solutions, with projects mainly in North America. What You Will Be Doing
Take full responsibility for specific project execution on site. Ensure that the necessary expertise in GOT (from other departments - environment, safety, MMR’s) is included in the solutions. Communicate with and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements. Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools. Support projects with CAD support and 3D scanning. Conduct mechanical quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Analyse engineering drawings and specifications for accuracy prior to implementation. Extensive travel expected (up to 100 travel days per year), inside and outside North America, including Europe for training, project execution, supplier visits/coordination. Relocation to Washington state anticipated for roughly one year for a greenfield project. Partake in budgeting and development of tender material for suppliers. Adhere to the company’s rules for purchase, secrecy and confidential handling of know-how. Follow the company’s code of conduct / values when representing ROCKWOOL with external contacts. What You Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant hands-on experience is preferred. 3+ years of experience in a similar role. Experience with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications and 3D modelling using Inventor or similar software. Experience with engineering drawings in Inventor or similar software. Knowledge of relevant mechanical standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness for extended periods on project sites with temporary relocations. Desire to learn and contribute in a dynamic environment. Ability to travel nationally and internationally (approximately 60% of the time). What We Offer
