Overview
The Service Department is an integral part of the Company’s success. The Diesel Technician will perform mechanical repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and rebuilds of heavy-duty trucks and other related equipment. Major Duties And Responsibilities
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions or damage Perform all mechanical repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and rebuilds of heavy-duty trucks and other related equipment Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, when applicable Use equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices Use electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in fuel and emissions control systems Inspect belts, hoses, steering systems, brakes, fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas for additional repairs needed Test electronic computer components to ensure that they are working properly Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges Education/Training Or Experience
High School graduate or GED required Diploma from Technical College or equivalent experience Some computer skills required 1-2 years experience in heavy-duty truck repair preferred Seniority level
