Position scope and organizational impact Moss’ Shop Equipment Mechanic ensures all equipment and vehicles are in job-ready condition. The role troubleshoots issues using diagnostic tools and performs economical repairs in a safe and timely manner. The candidate performs preventive maintenance and on-demand equipment down issues and on-site repairs as scheduled by the Solar Equipment Coordinator / Fleet Equipment Manager. The role requires communicating and coordinating with the Asset Management Team, jobsites, and vendors. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Perform regular routine preventative maintenance service on construction equipment Respond to service call requests immediately and perform repairs or maintenance as coordinated and scheduled with the Equipment Coordinator / Equipment Manager Communicate and troubleshoot service issues with the Equipment Coordinator / Equipment Manager and collaborate with outsourced service vendors to solve service issues Review completed services and take responsibility for completing work orders and using maintenance software to confirm equipment is safe, operable, and jobsite ready Must have welding and burning ability Complete electronic work orders and submit daily Work safely to protect themselves, co-workers, equipment and property per Moss Safety Guidelines and Policy Perform other duties as assigned Education And Work Experience

Minimum Associates Degree (or equivalent 5 years of work experience) with Heavy Equipment Minimum 5 years construction industry experience Maintain DOT physical for driving a commercial service truck CDL preferred but not required Knowledge of equipment hydraulic systems Ability to work on hydraulic and air braking systems Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues Basic understanding and diagnostic ability of diesel engines Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs are a must Certifications or training on the following: Safety; Brakes (Hydraulic and Air); Engine (Gas and Diesel); Transmissions; Troubleshooting; Suspension Systems Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to travel to job sites and overnight stays as needed Ability to work in outdoor and indoor shop conditions Self-starter capable of working independently with little supervision in the field Must be able to prioritize workload and daily activities Vermeer or John Deere experience is a plus Job Details
