The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of 24 direct reports in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production goals related to safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently met or exceeded. Key responsibilities include coordinating daily production activities, performing routine audits and inspections, and delivering hands-on leadership and support to team members. Our plant performs regeneration of ion exchange resin First shift – 6 AM to 2:30PM The Supervisor collaborates cross-functionally with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to identify, develop, and implement process improvements. A strong focus on continuous improvement methodologies—including Six Sigma and process mapping—is essential to drive operational excellence and enhance productivity. Key Responsibilities: Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures Conduct regular safety training for production team members Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines Conduct safety inspections and address any safety concerns or hazards Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a team of 24 direct reports Empowerment: Mentor team members, fostering their growth and skill development. Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams to align processes and achieve goals. Inventory Management: Monitor and track inventory levels Order supplies and materials as needed Implement systems to optimize inventory management Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies Coordinate with purchasing department to ensure timely delivery of materials Qualifications: Preferred bachelor's degree in Chemical Manufacturing, or a related field 5 years of relevant experience; experience in chemical manufacturing processes. Experience with Continuous Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, 5S practices, and initiatives. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, vSimple, SAP ERP). In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices. Experience with inventory management software and systems. Ability to develop and implement inventory optimization strategies. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good understanding of international trade laws and customs regulations. Knowledge and experience managing DOT drivers and familiarity with DOT compliance requirements. Xylem does not provide visa sponsorship for this position The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
