Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

will perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The Diesel Technician II may perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision and continues to develop additional skills. A successful Diesel Technician II adheres to company policies and achieves performance metrics. Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, transmission, steering, and related systems; diagnose and repair related components. Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments. Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate/consider alternatives. Manage parts inventory and maintain company-issued service truck; reconcile as needed. Operate and conduct safety checks on the service vehicle with pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs and provide information, resolving issues as appropriate. Prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work per company standards and upload photos and findings to Repair Orders using company devices and TRAIT app. Complete DOT forms and other documentation timely. Work independently and manage daily schedule; maintain high productivity and adhere to standard repair times. Source parts from approved vendors as needed. Coordinate with management to obtain approvals and capture RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience; or alternative combinations such as higher-level degree/certification with related experience. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Meet DOT/FMCSA regulations, including successful completion of pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical if valid for more than four months. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File. Required Certifications or within 18 Months ASE T8 (PMI) certification Preferred Certifications ASE T3 (Drivetrain) ASE T4 (Brakes) ASE T5 (Suspension) ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) ASE T7 (HVAC) ASE 608/609 certification Skills & Abilities

Understand the implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; ability to perform moderately heavy labor. Excellent written and verbal communication; effective two-way communication.
