Responsibilities
Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
Fasten (rig) steel members to hoist using chain, cable, or rope.
Signal worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member.
Guide member using tag line (rope) to position accurately.
Pull, push, or pry steel members into approximate position while supported by hoisting device.
Position member into final place using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
Align bolt holes in members and drive drift pins or use a spud wrench as needed.
Verify vertical and horizontal alignments using plumb bob and level.
Bolt aligned members to hold until permanently bolted or welded.
Cut and weld steel members to make alterations.
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; maintain a tidy work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience working in the field.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
40 or more hours per week with potential weekend work.
Background check and drug screen based on job location/requirements.
Must be able to work at heights up to 200 feet.
