POSITION OVERVIEW As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for developing a strong career foundation, expanding your base skills into a larger repertoire of technical tools across multiple disciplines and be assigned project roles that best fit your interests, drive, and skill. The structure of our organization is designed to maximize your development through peer learning, communication & organization enhancement courses, mentor programs, and diverse discipline opportunities, resulting in advancement specific to your individual performance. When the time comes, LJA will assist you with your preparation for the PE Exam by covering the costs of a one‑time prep class and pay for the annual license renewal once you have it.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

Performing design calculations, preparing plans, and preparing schematic designs on transportation projects across the state

Contributing to a variety of projects including high profile interstate corridors and multi‑discipline arterial projects for state and local government projects

Learning/Teaching in a peer setting

Gaining key experience working directly with professional engineers

Developing/using advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices

Interacting with clients and other consultants

Team lunches/breakfasts and social activities

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE

Experience with MicroStation ORD

2+ years work experience in an AEC related firm

Passed the FE Exam

Strong communication skills

Team mentality
