1st shift – 7AM to 3:30 PM
Work with other maintenance, operations and management personnel to provide a safe, cost-efficient program to properly maintain the company’s equipment and facility assets. Utilize best maintenance practices to keep equipment reliability and efficiency at maximum levels. Duties are usually performed during day shift, but this position entails responsibility for a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week operation, and scheduled “on-call” status is required. Call-outs, overtime, Saturday, Sunday, holiday, and nightshift hours will be required as conditions demand. Responsibilities
Perform routine, scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to all plant equipment Perform unscheduled (breakdown) repairs to any plant equipment as directed Have a complete understanding of the process, all plant equipment, associated controls & instrumentation, power systems, and ALL safe maintenance practices Utilize manuals, blueprints, parts catalogs, vendors, technical experts, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to properly maintain equipment, and diagnose equipment malfunctions Perform timely, accurate record keeping in CMMS for inventory control, parts orders, and equipment files Maintain shift records of mechanical, operational, environmental, and safety data Perform routine equipment inspections & lubrication Fabrication of guards, base plates, chutes, etc Cutting (Oxy/acet and plasma) of mild and stainless steel Welding (stick & wire-feed) of mild and stainless steel Alignment of drives, bearings, motors, shafts, couplings, sprockets, and sheaves using precision alignment tools Safely remove & install equipment/components with proper rigging techniques using cranes, forklifts, hoists, properly rated rigging, & approved practices Maintenance to kiln drive systems, bowl mills, roll crushers, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, fans, feeders, airlocks, actuated gates, load-out spouts, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic blowers, bucket elevators, product screens, weigh belts, product scales, mobile equipment, HVAC, etc Perform refractory repairs Change bags, cages, and components in process dust collectors Carpentry & pipefitting skills Basic electrical knowledge to assist electricians Perform routine clean-up of work areas---before & after maintenance jobs Direct operations personnel assisting with maintenance functions Assist operations personnel as required Primary goals of Maintenance personnel
Strict adherence to all safety & environmental rules Proper preventative maintenance & mechanical repairs to protect equipment Achieve minimal equipment downtime to produce stable process operation with maximum safe production Job Requirements
High school diploma and 5 years of maintenance experience preferred The ability to communicate fluently to convey, exchange, and understand questions, ideas and instructions in both verbal and written form Meticulous attention to detail regarding accuracy of work performed Possess good math skills including four basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurement Possess computer skills sufficient to operate CMMS, fill out maintenance work requests, and the ability to learn and understand the operation of plant control systems Ability to use all tools and precision instruments to perform maintenance on equipment and systems as listed in “job description” Able to access and work in ALL areas of plant which include heights up to 125’ above ground level, and confined spaces Lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of 75 pounds minimum Work in adverse outdoor weather conditions Tolerate intermittent exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, and vibration Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and respond accordingly Knowledge of best-maintenance practices Ability to safely operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, forklift, hoists, cranes Ability and willingness to be cross-trained in other job functions Strict adherence to safety policies Valid driver license Millwright & electrical credentials a huge plus
