Baylor Scott & White Health . Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, assists Physicians during catheterization / electrophysiology lab procedures. Prepares room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors patient's condition and provides routine and emergency patient care during procedures. Contributes to the orientation and training of other personnel. Assist in daily, monthly, and or quarterly quality control initiative through auditing and reporting. Responsibilities

Assist Physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional, peripheral and coronary procedures, interventional and thrombolytic therapy. Follow national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self and staff. Provide emergency procedures (CPR, defibrillation, etc.) as needed. Perform pre- and post-procedure care and monitoring; orient patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures; answer questions to comfort patients. Monitor patient ECG, pressures, temperature and impedances in the Electrophysiology Lab; notify physician of variances. Assist in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and document procedural information. Prepare and maintain sterile fields for lab procedures; order and maintain inventory of supplies; ensure equipment is stocked and not expired. Coordinate and/or audit resources during yearly inventories; perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment. Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students; support quality control monitoring and performance improvement initiatives. Participate in governance, department or professional committees and initiatives as assigned. Transport patients to and from the procedural area and demonstrate good customer service. Qualifications

Education / Experience: An Associate's degree or completion of a related program; or 2 years of related cardiovascular lab experience; or completion of US military training program with equivalent experience. On-call availability per facility/department policy. Knowledge of complex invasive cardiac and vascular principles, instrumentation and techniques; knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Certification/Licensing: ACLS and BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer; ARRT-R or related credentials (CCDS, CEPS, MRT, RCIS, RCES, RCIS, or equivalent) per facility requirements. Benefits
