Lead Civil Structural Engineer New Nuclear Plant Projects (Remote Eligible U.S.) The Lead Civil Structural Engineer contributes to the team responsible for the development of Civil Engineering activities in support of the New Nuclear Plants Engineering projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Nuclear engineering from an Accredited College or University

Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience

4 years of Civil Engineering Analysis and Design Experience

Eligibility Requirements

For the United States the preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Nuclear Energy Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (U.S. based) remote candidates will be considered.

Willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University. Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals.

Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.

Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.

The base pay range for this position is $86,000 to $122,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on November 11th.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
