It is expected that the essential duties and responsibilities of the AMS job will require 20% leadership work and 80% on actual tool time.
The person in this classification is expected to perform as a professional, highly skilled, and exceptionally competent maintenance person and leader.
Responsible for leading the day-to-day work associated with maintaining a running plant & scheduling maintenance personnel.
Must be able to analyze causes of breakdowns and initiate corrective measures. Completes required records and reports. Leads and participates in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work safely and follow all documented and “common sense” safety policies and procedures.
Ensure maintenance team compliance with site Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) and Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) system. Respect potential hazards and ensure necessary precautions are taken, including training and regular audits.
Follow all environmental compliance policies & programs.
Ensure safe rigging procedures.
Maintain computer literacy: email, spreadsheets, Word, SAP.
Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze problems and identify root causes, avoiding the “replace and see what happens” approach.
Install, modify, or maintain plant equipment, helping determine appropriate methods.
Inspect plant equipment to identify potential problems before breakdowns occur.
Lead and participate in teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.
Responsible for planning and scheduling activities.
Communicate job status daily to plant leadership.
Develop maintenance schedules one week in advance, order necessary parts, and communicate plans.
Review and adjust maintenance schedules daily with team and leadership.
Manage work orders in SAP, ensuring they are completed and properly documented.
Order and restock spare parts as needed.
Follow up on work quality, hold mechanics accountable, and communicate schedule changes.
Mentor and develop mechanics.
Ensure completion of all equipment care and preventive maintenance.
Participate actively in daily meetings, providing solutions and adjusting plans accordingly.
Read and analyze blueprints and technical data.
Use hand and power tools expertly.
Coordinate with outside contractors.
Develop housekeeping plans for maintenance areas.
Maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure work areas are clean.
Comply with all plant rules.
Operate a licensed forklift.
Perform other duties as assigned and be available for after-hours or weekend responses as needed.

Basic welding
Proficiency in SAP PM module
Electrical troubleshooting skills

Operate computers and other keyboard instruments
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic PLC training
Preferably five years in a related maintenance trade involving electrical or hydraulic machinery
Ability to troubleshoot and interpret instructions
Ability to work independently or in teams with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements
Climb on/off fork trucks and stairs
Stand for 10-12 hours
Lift, push, and pull 40 lbs. frequently
Work in temperature extremes and noisy environments
Bend, twist, handle objects and tools, perform repetitive movements
Must be a U.S. citizen or have valid work authorization in the U.S.
